My best friendship

1.
Once I didn't undstand your friendship part
but now I see you believed in your heart.
Your heart chosed the right from the wrong
and I was one of them for so long.
But now it is over and I had chosen wrong.
I am no longer so strong.

I moved away from all my friends
but you showed me that there were no ends.
You told me that I would see you again
and I know that I am still you friend.
You were right - I saw you one day
and I promised you not to go away.

3.
But the promise was broken one day.
A day where I had to take away.
I moved again to a new place far away
and wondered why I could not stay.
I thought of you every day
but soon your memory faded away.

4.
But now I know I had chosen wrong.
I searched for something without
knowning it was with you all along.
I searched for something to calm me down
without knowing it had always been around.
I cannot go back and we know that's true
but one thing my friend, I got to say:
what I really was looking for was you.
