A Dangerous Curious Mystery

I walk an endless hallway,
wishing to see the end but there is none,
and I fear that I will be stuck here
in a secretive and concealed world for ever.

This obscure world has an air of mystery
which makes it fascinating and intriguing,
but the danger of satisfying this curiousity
is that we for ever will be trapped in a world which has ceased to be.

As I am now stuck in the same terrible absorbing place
that I once found so riveting,
I listen but I can’t hear what they say
I’m not deaf but I can’t seem to hear.

I watch but I can’t grasp what’s going on.
I’m not blind but my eyes refuse to see,
my life has stopped but I keep ageing.
I am here but I’m not present.
